Defining Report Structure

Report Structure Tab

Use the Report Structure tab to view the basic structure of the report, including header information, line start and end positions, and soft page breaks. Access this tab by selecting Edit—Add (or Edit) Blueprint from the Blueprint Manager screen, then select the Report Structure tab. To adjust any of the values, click Edit.

Access this screen by clicking Edit on the Report Structure tab. Use it to change the number of lines to skip, which impact the report structure. Also use it to specify which indicators of soft page breaks to recognize in the input report.

Description

Lines to Skip at Beginning of Report

The number of lines to be ignored at the beginning of the raw report data. The header typically begins on the first line following the number of lines skipped.

Line Starts at Character Position

The starting position of the first character for each line in the resulting parsed report.

Line Ends at Character Position

The last character position to be included for each line in the resulting parsed report.

Lines in Page Header

The number of lines in each page header in the report.

Soft Page Breaks to Recognize

If applicable, any special page break indicators  to be recognized. Usually defined as None.

Note: If "1 in First Column" is selected, then whenever a "1" occurs in column one of the body of the *input report*, a new page is started in the current output document.
